Difference between 2D, 3D, and 4D baby scan
A 2D ultrasound refers to the traditional black and white ultrasounds often seen when you attend medical appointments.
A 3D ultrasound shows the surface tissue of the baby, creating realistic photographs of the baby's face. From this, we can see the roundness of the baby's face, the shape of the nose, and the lips' contours.
4D is the live motion of the 3D ultrasound of bub. The ultrasound machine used at Peek a Boo 3D ultrasound uses high definition software using a GE Voluson ultrasound machine. This specialised ultrasound equipment provides fast and real-time movements of your baby. There is also a virtual light source to create a more realistic and defined view of the baby and gives the images a 'skin coloured' appearance.
